White House Admits Russia is Real Reason for Firing James Comey
In what can only be considered a moment of unusual candor, The White House Thursday admitted that their real reason for firing former FBI Director James Comey was the Russian investigations.
After days of giving Americans conflicting excuses for letting Comey go, White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said last Thursday that they hope firing Comey will put an end to FBI’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
“We want this to come to its conclusion, we want it to come to its conclusion with integrity,” she said.
“And we think that we’ve actually, by removing Director Comey, taken steps to make that happen.”
The sudden and unexpected admission by The White House was a reversal of earlier statements indicating the dismissal was due to director Comey’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s email server issue.
President Trump said Thursday he wants to get to the bottom of Russia’s meddling in the election.
“I want to find out — I want to get to the bottom. If Russia hacked, if Russia did anything having to do with our election I want to know about it,” Trump said.
“If Russia or anybody else is trying to interfere with our elections I think it’s a horrible thing and I want to get to the bottom of it and I want to make sure it will never ever happen,” Trump said.
Most political observers however, believe President Donald Trump is lying.
“I believe Trump is lying about wanting the Russian investigation to continue. He doesn’t want it to continue. He wants it to stop. He is scared of what may come out of the investigation. That is why he fired director Comey thinking that will halt the whole thing,” a well-placed political observer, speaking on condition of anonymity told us Thursday.
“The problem is, it just intensified the desire to get to the bottom of the whole thing. Now everybody wants to know what really happened.”
