Trump Explodes, Threatens North Korea with “Fire and Fury”
To listen to U.S. President Donald Trump, war with North Korea is inevitable.
Earlier today, the president exploded at Pyongyang promising “fire and fury” like the world has never seen, following reports that the North Koreans have miniaturized a nuclear weapon capable of carrying warheads.
“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen,” Trump said in a short statement to reporters at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
“He has been very threatening, beyond a normal statement,” Trump said of North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un.
“And as I said, they will be met with fire, fury and frankly, power, the likes of which this world has never seen before,” he added.
U.S. intelligence sources confirmed to The Washington Post this morning that they have assessed North Korea as having produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead but officials said the Asian nation has yet to test the new warheads.
North Korea is also believed to have in their possession missiles capable of reaching mainland United States including Chicago and Los Angeles.
U.S. intelligence officials believe North Korean leader Kin Jong Un should be taken seriously.
“We have to take him at his word and we need to be prepared to deal with it,” officials told the media earlier today.
Also, people with knowledge of North Korean nuclear program said even though most Americans appear to be surprised at the latest development, most intelligence officials have been aware that the North Koreans are advancing their missile capabilities for a while and are therefore, not surprised.
In 2014 then commander of U.S. Forces in Korea, General Curtis Scaparrotti said he was confident the North Koreans were capable of miniaturizing a warhead.
“I believe they have the capability to have miniaturized a device at this point, and they have the technology to potentially actually deliver what they say they have,” Scaparrotti said at the time.
